Weight Loss
When my doctor told me that weight loss was essential for me in my quest towards leading a healthier lifestyle and becoming fitter, I really struggled to find reliable, unbiased information that I could trust.

When I eventually found a couple of reliable weight loss resources that seemed to be giving honest and straightforward advice and help, I wanted to put together my own guide to try and cut out the scams and con artists out there (oh yes there really are!) and give genuine help. Here’s the result!

Since starting my research into weight loss (and during the course of losing my 28lbs.) I have come across literally hundreds of weight loss articles, weight loss websites and weight loss products.
Many have value. Many do not.
Weight Loss – Finding What Works
The real difficulty in the weight loss area is that there are so many theories, so many products and so many diets out there that you can never even research them all, let alone try them.
And so documenting and reviewing the weight loss field as a whole becomes virtually impossible. However, what is possible is to look at accepted diet theories – for instance the theory that eating less will cause you to lose weight (I know that’s very simplistic but bear with me here) or that eating certain types of foods will aid weight loss.
You can then group weight loss principles into groups that are more likely to work than others. So for instance, say that for example there was a superfood out there that was known and clinically proven to burn more calories being eaten, or digested than it contained and say it also satisfied your hunger, diets, or weight loss plans based around that food would be more likely to work than other untried and untested food products.
And that’s my thinking behind indexofweightloss.com. We can’t review everything, but we can examine what is known to work and try and group other weight loss products and programs into sensible categories that are “more likely” than others to work.
It is these products and diet programs that we will cover on this site, with an occasional nod towards other products and programs that are believed to have little or no value, or, worse still are actually known or strongly believed to be harmful.
I hope this is an approach that you will find helpful and one which which will work well for you in your efforts to lose weight.
